Advanced Features
POI Data API
With the POI Data API you can fill the content of a POI automatically with resources of an external database. Enter the link to an API providing the data in a JSON syntax in the Map settings and name the POI as specified within.
Sample Link
https://dev2.viewar.com/custom/tmw/poiocrinfos/?input=39244&mapVersion=2.0.0
Enter this URL in the POI Data API field and try it out by naming a POI "39244"
Live Tracking
With the Live Tracking enabled in the Map Settings. You will be able to see the position, movement and orientation of all users currently using your app. They will be displayed in the admin interface on the scan as blue arrow.
Foreign key
The foreign key can be used to access external databases. Content of other databases can be implemented by means of an ID for example.
POI content iframe override
With the functionality of “POI content iframe” whole websites can be displayed inside a POI label. Keep in mind that this only works with websites that allow iframes.
GuideBOT custom speech
You can also present desired content via our text-to-speech function. Personalized texts are spoken by the GuideBOT. To add custom speech go ahead and open the editing area of a POI. Go to the dropdown GuideBOT custom speech. Here you can add your text. Make sure, that the text is filled in the correct language according to your settings. You can see on the top left corner in which language you are editing. In order to enable the text-to-speech function the GuideBOT must be activated in the settings. You can find that in the navigation tab.
OCR
AR Tagging uses optical character recognition (OCR) looking for text, barcodes or QR codes. AR Tagging will automatically find the desired characters from the label using defined filters – either standard rules or regular expressions – create a Point of interest and save its position to your scan. Determine the POI’s position based on the data from the scan. Add Points of interest with your smartphone while walking around the location. For more information check out "OCR"
Tags
With custom tags POIs and tours can be categorized. For example, you can add the same tag to every fire extinguisher or elevator and generate a bundle of POIs. You also have the option to turn tags into quick links which will be shown below the search bar.
Deep Link
Inside the deep link dropdown you can copy the URL as well as a downloadable QR-code. With those you can navigate directly to the POI.
Highlights
You are also able to set highlights to your POI and put them in a desired order. The app user then can have a look at the highlights all in one or one after another.
Area of Interest
A source code feature that lets you define an area that triggers a specified event.
Activation Settings
Activation radius
The activation radius lets you decide from which distance the POI should be activated while navigating.
Presentation point
You can also set a presentation point. With this function POIs can be presented from a desired location. The activation radius will change it's center position to the new presentation point.
Custom Data
A source code access feature that lets you display custom data for your custom project.
Hosting Cloud vs on-premise
VIEWAR applications communicate with a cloud infrastructure and use caching for offline mode. Either use the VIEWAR server infrastructure or install an on-premise instance. Data saved in cloud:
- App configuration
- recognition pattern
- 3D scans, panorama images
- Map ( POIs, tours, navigation)
- Analytics
